Low cost oscilloscope
The proposed and designed Digital Oscilloscope is a microcontroller based device. It is not only low cost, but also compact and very much portable.
An oscilloscope is a laboratory instrument commonly used to display and analyze the waveform of electronic signals. In effect, the device draws a graph of the instantaneous signal voltage as a function of time.
Oscilloscopes are generally expensive equipment, and not feasible for any mid or small scale requirements. In addition to which, they are generally large equipment, which are not conveniently carried and have to be stationed as desk equipment. They require significant amounts of power and rarely run on batteries or other portable sources.
The proposed and designed Digital Oscilloscope is a micro-controller based device, utilizing the PIC series from Microchip. It is not only low cost, but also compact and very much portable.
*The trade-off here is that input frequencies may not be as high as that of stationed devices due to limitations of the hardware.
